Mojih 12 godina u Evropskoj uniji

Gradske priče / City Buzz - VOJISLAV ŠEŠELJ
Predsednik Srpske radikalne stranke / President of the Serbian Radical Party

Kako vidite srbiju posle dvanaest godina?

Napisao sam ceo serijal knjiga SRPSKI NAROD I NOVI SVETSKI POREDAK, kroz koje sam obradio sve Haške presude do tada donesen. Obradio sam sve, i one prvostepene i one drugostepene presude. Te knjige imaju i po 3000 strana. Ja sam to temeljito proučavao.

Zato me i nisu mogli osuditi za 12 godina.

Materijom sam vladao bolje nego sudije i tužioci. Ja sam ih pobedio pre svega na polju procedure i materijalnopravnih dokumenata, opovrgnuvši sve lažne svedoke i dokazavši falsifikate u podnetim dokumentima. U sudnici sam vređao sudije namerno da ih iritiram i provociram, i da malo zabavim srpski narod.

My Twelve Years in the European Union

Vojislav Šešelj, the president of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), speaks with THE GLOBE magazine on how he sees Serbia after 12 years of isolation, his return to Serbia, and how he spent his days in Scheveningen, the war crimes prison unit. He unveils how he won over the Hague tribunal and emphasizes that the past 12 years he spent in Scheveningen prison did not discourage him to run the politics of his party with more strength and enthusiasm, to hold meetings, rallies and public speeches. He believes that SRS is still the only alternative to the current government.

How do you see serbia after twelve years? Has something changed?

There is a huge difference, Serbia is poorer, dissatisfaction among people is much higher, Serbia has been economically impoverished, there is a huge depression among people, accompanied by loss of faith in the future. Although this was all the case during the “reign of DOS,” they impoverished it even more over time.

When you were leaving for the hague, how long did you think you would stay there?

I thought I would stay 2-5 years, but I am not sorry, my time is not lost, I won the Hague tribunal, 20 thousand transcripts witnessed my victory over the Tribunal. In that time, I wrote a large number of books, six of them have been published, the majority of them are 1000 pages long. I wrote a whole series of books SERBIAN PEOPLE AND THE NEW WORLD ORDER, in which I covered all the judgements made until that point, I analyzed all the judgements, first-instance and second-instance judgements. Those were books of 3000 pages, and I studied them in details. In those 5 years, I researched Anglo-Saxon law thoroughly, and I became an expert in Anglo-Saxon criminal law.

Your indictment was several hundred pages long. What was it based on? You were not even convicted after all?

The indictment was based on pure assumptions and false testimonies. They were all dropped, except Vukovar, Ovčar in particular. Everything else was dropped, which means that there was no ground for trial on this indictment, which was proved by the whole process. That is why they could not have convicted me in 12 years. They spend three years writing the indictment. I had the longest custody in the history of the Hague Tribunal.

You defended yourself?

The biggest mistake they made was keeping me in custody for five years. In that time, I analyzed the Anglo-Saxon law and court practice of the Hague Tribunal. I prepared for the process very well, I learned the material. I knew the case better than the judges and prosecutors. In the courtroom, I was guided by an ironclad logic and used principles, which could not be easily opposed, because whoever would try to oppose them would appear ridiculous. I beat them, first of all in terms of procedure and legal documents, refuting all the fake witnesses and proving the falsifications of the submitted documents. I deliberately insulted the judges in the courtroom, just to irritate and provoke them, and make some fun for the Serbian people.
